Guenther ALBRECHT - Work Bio

1982
i began to study economics and computer science at the University
Vienna and Technical University Vienna, where i also taught students.
1984 i started working for IBM during the university holidays and soon became an external consultant there.
Later i switched to Apple Macintosh, programming software for print magazines in ACI´s 4th Dimension.
1987 to 1993 i helped open the Austrian Desktop Publishing market as a founding
member of the distribution company PowerPublish where i did the technical support
for PC- and Macintosh soft- and hardware, later also product marketing. Being
in charge of our dealers and suppliers. I acquired an in-depth knowledge of most
important products (XPress, Photoshop, Director...), by joining classes by companies
like Adobe, Aldus, Claris, Farallon or Macromedia.
1994 i co-founded "Software-Schmiede - Mucha, Albrecht & Partner GmbH." to
sell PC- and Macintosh soft- and hardware and do project management for the programming
team. After two years we gave up selling machines, i left and my partner continued
programming.
1996 &1997 Director programming for the CD-ROMs "ORF Werbung" for ORF (Austrian Television).
1997 - 2003 technician/secretary at echoraum, Vienna .
Programming an interactive CD-ROM for a computer-based presentation of the new
Carrera 911 for Porsche Austria.
Programming the web pages of the theatre echoraum
(Design: W. Korn).
1999 Design and programming for the web pages of AINS (Austrian Institute for Nonlinear Studies).
2000 Director programming for the A-Online CD-ROM (Telekom Austria).
2001 Programming the CD-ROM for the book "Heinz
von Foerster 90" (Design: W. Korn).
2003 Doing website maintainance for echoraum and the extraplatte webshop.
2005 Programming the CD-ROM "Wienerlied und Weanatanz" (Design: W. Korn) for the
wvlw (Wiener Volksliedwerk). The book "Heinz
von Foerster 90" received a new pressing with english text and
a CD-ROM updated for current system versions.
2006 DVD-Authoring for C. Schlingensiefs "AREA7", Burgtheater Wien.
2006 - 2007 Webmaster for McSHARK,
an Apple Reseller.
2007 DVD-Authoring for the book A. Kluge : "Magazin des Glücks", Springer Verlag Wien.
2012 Project manager and contributor of the DVD-ROM "Wienerlied macht Schule - Volksmusik im alten und neuen Wien" for the wvlw (Wiener Volksliedwerk).
Currently i am working for a company distributing Security, Server, Storage and Virtualisation products.
