What you can do
- Receive Single and Multi Patches into the corresponding place of a bank (Get Patch)
- Send Single and Multi Patches into the Virus edit buffer(s) for testing sounds (Send Patch / Send on select)
- Receive the 2 Single Banks and the Multi Bank into the bundle (Get bank / Get all Banks from Access Virus)
- Send (altered versions of) the 2 Single Banks and the Multi Bank into the Virus (Send all Banks to Access Virus)
- Sort the patches into a library
- The patch data gets stripped from the sysEx header & function description so it can be sent to any bank or buffer desired.
- A connected Virus may have a Device ID other than 0. So the patches can be used for a number of different Viruses in your equipment by sending Galaxy´s Device ID set for the specific Virus.
- Now correctly shows patchnames with Cubase.
- Supports the new Global Dump Request in System 1.56.
- New Factory Patches from OS 2.01 and updated Library of PD Patches.
- Better handling of Get Bank / All Banks.
- Now will try to get a new dump of the same patch if the length does not match instead of stopping with alert.
- Now all Single Banks including C - H from the FlashROM can be received to get the names into your sequencer.
Installation
Before the installation, DELETE THE OLD ACCESS ENTRY in Galaxy Configuration and/or make sure that your OMS-SetUp no longer contains an entry for the Virus - this has to come from Galaxy.
The stuffed archive contains the file for installation:
Access Virus
This is the Galaxy module that has to be installed. You can simply double-click the Librarian file to make Galaxy install it. Do not forget to check the OMS Setup application. In the MIDI Device Info for the Virus, select Manuf./Model to match the new entries made by Galaxy.
In your OMS compatible sequencer / MIDI program you have to check the names window (you can also use the application Studio Patches from the Studio 4 & 5) and make shure that the right patch document is subscribed. Check if you see the controller names: the patch names are always the ones corresponding to instruments channel 1. So to look and change patch / controller names for Bank A first select Bank A in the first channel, then open the names list by double-click. You have to do the same for Bank B, too!
Arrangement Patchtype
I created this one to store complete performance setups - the Multi parameters in the edit buffer and all parameters from 16 Single edit buffers. So you can dump a whole setup for future use that will work even if some singles have been deleted meanwhile. It also may be helpful to tweak sounds and dump them with that changes without storing it over the original version. Best used for making libraries...
I did NOT implement the new Arrangement Dump Request in System 1.56 - this is not possible in Galaxy, as only enabled single patches are sent, so that the size will differ from arrangement to arrangement, depending on the number of used patches. My Arrangement Patchtype stores also the disabled singles, making the patch larger, but of constant size.
If you want to see the controller names in OMS Name Manager compatible applications, go here.
