What you can do
- Receive any kind of 03D Data for backup (Get Patch)
- Send 03D Data to memory or - for Scene Memory and Automix - edit buffer (Send Patch / Send on select)
- Receive all 03D Data into the bundle (Get bank / Get all Banks)
- Send (altered versions of) the program banks (Send Banks)
- Sort the data into different libraries
Installation
Before the installation, DELETE THE OLD YAMAHA 03D ENTRY in Galaxy Configuration and/or make sure that your OMS-SetUp no longer contains an entry for the 03D - this has to come from Galaxy.
Yamaha 03D is is the Galaxy module that has to be installed. You can simply double-click the Librarian file to make Galaxy install it. Do not forget to check the OMS Setup application. In the MIDI Device Info for the 03D, select Manuf./Model to match the new entries made by Galaxy.
Now it is time to do a setup with the 03D. The manual gives the necessary information, but does not tell you the following: TO SEND DATA, THE MIDI/MIDI SETUP PAGE MUST HAVE BULK RX SET TO ON - OTHERWISE IT WILL NEITHER SEND NOR RECEIVE ANYTHING!!!
There are a lot of different data types present. To use the Librarian, a short overview is a must!
Scene Memory, Automix Memory
The Scene Memory is the most handy data: It stores nearly all settings. You have 50 scenes to store and change on the 03D. Warning: Empty slots in these 50 stored scenes can not be sent - Galaxy waits for a while untill it tells you it did not receive enough data, but all stored scenes are now in your bundle. It may abort a Get all Banks. If you now just click on a scene (to Send on Select), the data is sent to the edit buffer and the 03D is set accordingly. In your OMS compatible sequencer / MIDI program you have to check the names window (you can also use the application Studio Patches from the Studio 4 & 5) and make shure that the right patch document is subscribed. Select Scene Memory as patchtype.
Automix Memory works similar but has only 4 slots to save mixes, but an edit buffer called Current Automix. So Send on Select stores the Automix as Current Automix.
EQ, FX, Dynamics, CH Library
These Banks have much in common: Every bank partly consists of protected slots that can not be changed, just stored in Galaxy. So remember, in EQ and Dynamics, only 40 of 80 are received by the 03D, FX only 32 of 96, CH 48 of 50; remember, always the part at the end.
Setup Memory, Program Change Assignment, Control Change Assignment, MIDI Remote
These Banks save just one - the current - setting, except MIDI Remote which consists of 4 slots. You can name the data to collect libraries of settings for later use.
